About us:

The CAMBODIAN MUSLIM STUDENT ASSOCIATION (CAMSA) has been existence since 1995. Thirteen Muslim students who studying in different fields from University, Faculty met at Phnom Penh, planned the youth organization. Early in 1995, most of students shortage and had no finances but they had an overwhelming. Sense of duty and obligation to the Muslim community in Cambodia. Using their theism, their ideas, and their energy, they were determined to establish a youth Organization.

In August 1995, the youth enthusiasts held a convention and adopted a constitution for what came to be known as the Cambodian Muslim Student Association. CAMSA is an authorized non-profit organization from the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the 2nd January 1997 from a humble beginning with only 13 colleagues’ student, CAMSA officials decided to open its membership to all Muslim students in Cambodia, including student from primary, secondary, and high schools. Since its inception; CAMSA was very active in community development activities such as human resources, youth promotion/opportunities, social welfare, Islamic structures/buildings, humanitarian relief, poverty reduction, living improvement and sanitation sectors etc. Along with these successful vision, CAMSA was classed from Allah (SWT) to straight our goal. And without all partners that support us either financing or assistance, we cannot reach our mission. Thus; without responsibilities and work hard from our colleagues, active members and staff, we therefore cannot go smoothly path like today.

The overall association goal of CAMSA is to help facilitate in the promotion of education and human resource of Khmer Islam in Cambodia.

Mission:

The mission of CAMSA is to promote education as well improve living condition of Cambodians Muslim Community particularly push the Cambodian Muslim Students to study both Islam and sciences.

  • To improve the education by encourages the Cambodian Muslim student to study higher basically to study sciences technology.
  • To seek the scholarship to sponsor the poor students, to send them to study in various Universities inside the country and abroad.
  • To provide the vocational skill to Muslim, non-Muslim such as computer training, English course, sewing Training.
  • To provide the accommodation (Male Student’s hostel) to poor, especially the students who come from province side, remote area for continued their study in various Universities in Phnom Penh City.
  • To build proper accommodations for female Muslim student.
  • To open & operate the charity clinic in province for consultation of the primary health care, dentist care, eye surgeon, health education, especially mothers and children.
  • To provide the sanitation such as to build the well, water filter, toilette for Mosque and needy
  • To provide the humanitarian aid such as food package, Ramadan and Qurban programme, zakat-ulfitr of money and clothes to orphans, widows, handicapped, eldest and poor people.
  • To build the orphanage centre in Phnom Penh: we select the orphans from difference provinces/city to stay and study in public school and religious.
  • To build the Mosque and school.
  • To attend the local, regional and international conferences, workshops, seminars and camps.
